About 79,000 individuals flew out and in of Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse Metropolis in June. That’s a file breaking leap from June of 2019. Cherry Capital Airport Director Kevin Klein spoke with Michigan Information Community this week.
“June was type of a pendulum swing from the pandemic the place we noticed loads of return vacationers come again to northern Michigan, and our numbers are up 26.9% for June. So that’s in comparison with 2019.”
Klein says the numbers look good for July up to now. He says the airways made changes for the pandemic, including extra seats and cleansing protocols due to the pandemic. He says we’ll see if enterprise journey picks up within the Fall.
